In the span of three months my family and I spent about a month in Canggu. During that month we ate out once a day (usually an early dinner) and tried as many places around where we were staying as possible. We stayed in three different Airbnbs in three different areas so we really we able to try a variety of restaurants. Here are our top picks in Canggu. If you’re looking for our top restaurant picks in Ubud you can find them here.
WARUNG DANDELION
This adorable restaurant feels like something out of a fairy tale. It is designed so beautifully. It’s only open for dinner (it opens at 5pm), and the lighting is on point. Little string lights and lanterns all around. It has a rustic old library feel with lots of wood elements everywhere. The staff is all so welcoming. They asked us all our names and remembered them every time they brought us a dish. The food is traditional Indonesian and it’s delicious. To top it all off they had a little shed with bunnies in it. Needless to say Zayd loved them!

MOANA FISH EATERY
This place is probably the most delicious fish joint in Canggu and possibly Bali! Great food, great atmosphere and great service. This restaurant that makes you feel like you’re sitting on the beach somewhere in Hawaii. Lots of chandeliers made out of shells hanging all around and a great big beautiful tree smack in the middle of the place. The fish is so fresh you feel like it just jumped out of the water. If you’re planning on having dinner there I highly recommend you call and make a reservation ahead of time as it can get pretty busy. Definitely don’t miss out on eating here while in Canggu.

Great if you don’t have kids but even more great if you do and they can walk already and make use of the playground that’s right next to the dining tables.

SUNNY CAFE
Cafe with a vintage 50’s style flair. We checked this place out twice, both times for breakfast. When you walk into the place is makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. I felt like I was sitting in my Grandma’s kitchen as a little girl. Lots of vintage items like radios, TV’s and record players. Even the music is on point. The breakfast food is delicious and they have very good coffee.

BUNGALOW LIVING
This place is a cute little cafe inside a home-ware store. It’s got such nice curb appeal in terms of house decor I was so mesmerized by their window displays that I had no idea they also had a cafe in the back until the morning we were leaving Canggu. Great spot to grab a quick bite like a pastry and a morning coffee. When you’re done you can take a walk around the store and appreciate how beautifully decorated the place is.

This place is a MUST try while in Bali. It has two locations, Seminyak and Canggu (Kuta Utara area). If you’re looking for a fantastic burger that both looks and tastes fantastic this is your place. The burgers are names after movies and each one has its own twist. Also, check out their Instagram account and prepare to drool. The restaurant decor is also really fun.

MILU (by Nook)
We stumbled upon this chic little place while taking Zayd for a walk around the neighborhood and I’m so glad we did! From the outside it doesn’t look like a place you have to check out but if you look through the front door while passing by you see the rice field view. We decided to check it out and so glad we did. The ambiance is amazing! It has indoor and a large outdoor dining room as well. Super cutely decorated with all sorts of rattan objects throughout the area. The food options were plenty and varied from Asian to Italian to Indonesian. Definitely recommend checking this place out. It would be nice to visit for sunset.

Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in Canggu! The food, the atmosphere, the service. This place is right across the street from Nook and is owned by the same people but it is far superior. It’s Japanese, Asian and Vegan. They offer vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian dishes. Really delicious.
